Texas Empowerment Academy is an adaptation of the school-to-career concept which encompasses two main goals:

• High academic standards and
• preparation for obtaining high-skilled occupations or further education

Texas Empowerment Academy provides opportunities for experience-based learning that will enable students to become aware of various careers and to develop an understanding of the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to be hired and successful in any career. Rather than just preparing students to enter into the workforce, students are equipped with a strong academic foundation for success in college or other higher learning institutions.

The issues that surround educating today’s youth, especially in urban communities, require comprehensive solutions. Texas Empowerment Academy’s Mddle School Campus educational program utilizes four main components:

• Core Ssubject Areas: Math, Science, Language Arts, and Humanities
• Experience-based Learning
• Human Development
• Self Awareness

The Elementary Campus utilizes:

• Core Subject Areas: Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies
• The Arts: Dance, Visual Arts, African Drum, Spanish and Physical Education
• Technology is integrated in all Core Subjects.
• Regular field-trips and experiential learning
• Human Development Days twice a month.
